On behalf of the community of Farmstone
Ridge and the Homeowners Association, we welcome you to the neighborhood! We hope that the following information will assist
you in settling into your new neighborhood.
The Farmstone Ridge Homeowners
Association: The HOA meets at least four to five times a year;
the dates, time, and location will be posted on signs at the three neighborhood entrances prior to the meeting and posted
on the website. Also published are social events and neighborhood news. There is also a Farmstone Ridge
face book page; we invite you to check it out. We have a great group of homeowners that help out on various committees and
we are always looking for more volunteers!
The Village of Plainfield: New residents are
given a packet of information and a local telephone book when they register at the Village Hall for water service. This packet
includes detailed information about refuse, recycling, and yard waste pick-up. The Village also has a great website, www.plainfield-il.org, with this and other useful information including ordinances. The general phone number for the Village is 815-436-7093.
Chamber
of Commerce: The Chamber of Commerce will make
a home visit to deliver a map of the area, information, and coupons from professionals and businesses. Please call them at
815-436-4431 and ask for the Residential Greeter Program. Their website is www.plainfieldchamber.com.
Garbage, recycling, and yard waste: The Village of Plainfield contracts with Waste Management, 800-747-2278.
A detailed brochure is provided in the packet of information from Village Hall and is also available on the Village website.
The brochure includes detailed information about containers, etc. Our pick up day is Thursdays; refuse, recycling, and yard waste must be curbside
by 6:00 am and should not be put out earlier than 5 pm the evening before. Pickup will be delayed by one day should New Year’s
Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day fall during the week. You can call Village
Hall if your garbage is not picked up. Open burning is not permitted and stickers are not needed on yard waste bags.
Golf Club: We have two public courses close to our neighborhood. The Bolingbrook Golf Club is located at 2001 Rodeo
Drive (119th Street), 630-771-9400, and the Naperbrook Golf Course is located at 22204 W. Hassert Blvd (111th
Street), 630-378-4215.

Acceptable Wastes:
Oil-based paint, mineral spirits, solvents, household batteries, fluorescent fixtures, insecticides, herbicides,
drain cleaners, prescription medicine, household cleaning products, flammables, and automotive fluids.
Unacceptable Wastes: Ammunition, explosives, radioactive materials, compressed gas, latex paint, trash, non-hazardous
materials, and unopened, useable consumer products
Home
alarm system: Home alarm systems no longer need to be registered with the Plainfield Police Department however there is a charge
for false alarms.
Lawn Watering: The Village of Plainfield ordinance for outside water
use is as follows: Lawn sprinkling for even numbered addresses on even numbered calendar days and lawn sprinkling for odd
numbered addresses on odd numbered calendar days is permitted between the hours of 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and/or 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Watering of gardens, trees, shrubs, and flowers by handheld hose or watering can is permitted anytime. These water restrictions
apply year round. Check with the Village for watering new sod. Plainfield’s water supply comes from Lake Michigan.
Plainfield
Park District: The Park District has a full array of programming for all ages and free special events throughout the year. A swimming
pool, tennis courts, and parks are available. A comprehensive brochure is available by contacting the Park District office.

Plainfield Post Office: The post office is located at 14855 S. New Van Dyke Road.

Plainfield Public Library: The library is downtown one
block north of Lockport Road on Illinois Street. Their phone number is 815-436-6639 and the website is www.plainfield.lib.il.us.
Tornado:
In the event of
a tornado or nuclear emergency, a siren will sound with a solid blast lasting 3-5 minutes. A tornado watch means that
conditions are right for a tornado to develop and a tornado warning means that a tornado has been sighted and may be approaching;
you should seek shelter immediately. The siren is tested at 10 am on the first Tuesday of the month. Additional information
can be found on the Plainfield Emergency Management website www.plainfieldema.org.
Voter registration:
Residents can
register at the Village Hall during normal business hours. You must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of Illinois
for 30 days. Two forms of identification are required, one which needs the current address. A driver's license,
utility bill, mail, or check may be used. Applications for absentee ballots may also be picked up at the Village Hall.
Voter registration is also available at the Plainfield Public Library.
Will County Forest Preserve: The Forest Preserve District has lots of properties including nature
centers. They have activities year round for all ages. The phone number is 815-727-8700 and the website is www.fpdwc.org.
